Carla Tyacke
was born July 13,1966 in the city of Moose Jaw, Sask. In 1989 she moved to a farm
south of Melfort, Sask. Carla 's past occupation was in the Biological
Science technology field. Carla's hobbies include: art, horseback riding
and taking care of her three children.
She
has been involved in art since her childhood, but more seriously last 4 years.
Carla's favorite works of art are some that she has done in pencil. Her favorite
things to draw are horses and other animals. She also draws pictures of people.
Carla has sold many originals and lithograph prints done of her work.
The person who inspired Carla was her father because he used to draw for her.
Her most treasured object is her kitchen table.
The table has been passed down through her family. She hopes to pass the table
on to one of her children. Her family always sat at the table during meal
times . It reminds her of when she was a child .

Robert Billings
Robert was born in Grand Banks, Newfoundland
on June 8, 1944. Robert has lived throughout Canada, mostly
in London, ON, Calgary, AB, and presently lives in Melfort, SK.
Robert is a wildlife artist who uses oil on canvas, acrylic on masonite board,
or watercolor or paper. He was inspired by Robert Bateman and George McLean.
He has two favorite pieces of art work they are: two men hunting and a dog retrieving
a duck.The other are black and grey wolves, but he has made many different pictures
in his 14 years of being an artist. His work can be viewed at Custom Country
Framing and Melfort Gallery.
His favorite hobbies
are hunting, fishing and photography. His most treasured item is his Bible.
He says it is the word of God and that guides him.

Bill Wood
Bill has lived in Melfort for 26 years.
His hobbies are making jewelry. He has been involved in making jewelry for 6 years
. Dawn Koizer from Nipawin inspired Bill. It is important to him because it gives
him something to do in his spare time. Bill would like to pass it on to someone.
Bill likes all that he makes especially his earrings and rings. Making
jewelry is a creative outlet. The craft work became a business 4 years ago known

He uses semi gemstones in his
jewelry-12R+14R gold filled wire and sterling silver wire. The jewelry is
guaranteed for a lifetime of enjoyment. Earrings are hypo allergenic using titanium
hooks and posts. He continues to offer jewelry products with materials that
are made in Canada and the finest available.

Grace Ellis
Grace Frances Vera Ellis was born in Saskatoon on July 5th, 1930.
She has lived in Melfort most of her life, and her present occupation is owning
her own business. Her past occupation was teaching at Brunswick, Broadway and
Division III. Grace's hobby is gardening and she has been doing art and stained
glass artand pottery for 25 years. The person who inspired her was Georgia
O'Keefe. Another inspiration are the stained glass windows in churches.
Her most treasured objects are her stain glass
paperweights and ball egg designs. This kind of art is important to her because
others enjoy it and she likes to work with her hands.
She taught lessons to people and in that way she has passed it on.
Her most favorite memories are with her children. She has never used the internet
herself, but her daughter helps her.
Grace
plays the piano and organ and is also the choir mistress at the All Saints Anglican
Church.

Jim Mason
Jim's real name
is James Dwight Mason. He was born on October 16th, 1953 in Melfort Sask. Jim
has lived here for about 44 years except when he went off to school.
Jim is a computer consultant. His hobbies are woodcarving and flying model airplanes.
He has been involved in the arts for about 20 years. His favorite work of art
is a carved loon. It is his favorite work of art because it is very detailed and
it reminds him of when he was doing his best work. He carved it about 8 years
ago. He intends to pass it on to one of his children. Lorne Walker inspired him
to do woodcarving. Jim is a member of the Melfort Northern Lights Woodcarvers
group.
One of his most favorite memories is
when his first child, Jeff was born.

Kent Ringheim
Kent Stewart Ringheim was born on August 19, 1958, in Saskatoon Sask. He
grew up in Cutbank and Regina, Sask.. At the present time,
he is a school teacher in Melfort, Sask. His hobbies are archery,
bow hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Mr. Ringheim has
also been a taxidermist for 5 years. He was inspired to be a taxidermist
by friends and other taxidermists.
His most favorite work has been a 350 lb. brown bear, that he shot with an arrow
on April 21,1999. After he shot it, he mounted it as a life size bear.
For the time being, his favorite experience has been going to the North West Territories
to hunt barren ground caribou with a bow and arrow. While he was there he
was lucky enough to shoot a record book caribou.

Nadine Hoffman
Nadine Hoffman was born
in 1970 in La Ronge. Her present occupation is being a teacher. She says her hobbies
are horse back riding, music and art. She's been involved in the arts for about
5 years. She says her favourite works of art are anything done by Bill Watterson
. No one inspired her but when she was little she liked to draw cartoon characters
like Garfield. She makes cartoons and sells them for money.
Her most
favourite treasured objects are her dogs. The dogs are important to her
because whenever she's around they're really happy. She got them 3 years
ago. A memory that is very important to her is when she did her first big mural.
It is 30 feet long and 17 feet high. She painted it on a barn near Saskatoon.

Trevor Berger
Trevor was born on Jan. 14th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He has lived in Melfort
for 4 years. He now lives in Saskatoon where he does causal labor. His hobbies
are: hockey, volleyball, and ski-dooing.
His
favorite piece of art are his metal ashtrays. Ron Binsfeld inspired Trevor. His
most favorite and most treasured object is his truck; it's his baby. The most
important thing about his truck is it gets him where he is going. He acquired
his truck in 1998.The most important thing is when he learned how to skate. He
has used the internet.

Phyllis Dickie-W.
Phyllis was born in southern Saskatchewan. She was a registered nurse. Phyllis moved to Melfort to work as a nurse. Phyllis likes art a lot. She painted as a kid. Her first class was in the old Reynolds school. Her teacher was a well known artist. Her name was Mrs.D.N.Harold.
Phyllis has just taught her first class of art to a group of adults this spring. Art is her favorite thing to do. Phyllis has 100 or more pictures in her house. The top floor of her house has been converted to a gallery. She has been painting art for about 40 years. Her favorite kind of paints to use are oil paints and water colors. Her favorite is water color. She thinks art is fun and challenging and when you're finished you can look at the masterpiece.
She has 2 kids, one's a farmer and the other a homemaker. She lives on a farm and has a big house. Her house came from an Eaton's catalogue. It arrived by train. Phyllis likes living on a farm.
Art takes a long time but it's worth it!
