At Reynolds Central School, student and staff safety is our number one priority. We are raising funds to purchase a Philips HeartStart OnSite Defibrillator—a reliable, user-friendly device that can make all the difference during a sudden cardiac emergency. Currently, our school does not have an AED. In those critical moments, having one on-site would allow staff to respond immediately while waiting for emergency services—potentially saving a life.

The Melfort Kinette Club has graciously donated $1,100.00 towards our purchase and member Jessica Yaworski presented the cheque to us at our Welcome Assembly this Thursday. Thank you for helping us build a safer school environment!

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Reynolds will be running a School Milk Program which will start on Tuesday, September 23^rd. Our program will run 4 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. You may choose 2% White Milk or 1% Chocolate Milk.

Milk Program Policies: 

     Milk punch cards will be kept in the office and will not be given to students. IF your student would like to gift another student with a carton of milk, we will need verbal or written permission from the parent/guardian. Please do so by contacting the office.

     If you have more than one student at the school and you are wanting to use 1 punch card for more than one student, please contact the office to advise so that we are able to keep track of the cards and distribution.

Payment Options:

·       Pre-Paid Punch Cards

a.     10-punch card for $17.50 

b.     20-punch card for $35.00 (Please use the portal for payment – Instructions below)

·       Cash

a.     $2.00 per milk carton

Pre-Paid Punch Cards – Order Instructions: 

•         Go to: reynolds.nesd.ca

•         Click on the “Our School” tab, then “Online Payments” (it is 3rd on the list)

•         Click on the link under the online payments (https://publicforms.nesd.ca/store/home/)

•         Click on “add student/staff”

•         Enter in your student’s name, and under department select ‘Reynolds Central School’.  Click submit.

•         If you have multiple students repeat these steps to add them.

•         Once your student(s) are entered, click on Purchase items

•         Use the drop down menu to select your Milk Punch Card (Ex: Milk Program, 10 Punch Card - $17.50) Click submit.

•         Repeat this step for all items and all students

•         Once all items are added to order click on Checkout

•         Follow the on screen steps to submit payment.

•         You will receive an “Approved” screen when you order/payment has gone through.

Reynolds Playground Committee Update

September 2025

While you haven’t heard much from the Playground Committee lately, we are still here working towards improving the school playground!

Over the last year we have been able to raise $18,143.93. This includes funds raised by the Mom’s Pantry Fundraiser, hot lunches, Track and Field Canteen, Prairie North COOP Sustainable Communities Grant and recent sponsorships.

These funds mean that there will be some additions made to the playground this fall. 1Stop Playgrounds will be installing a second barrel spinner, a disc swing and new basketball standards. We have also purchased two complete soccer nets from Northland Recreation Supply. We hope to have all of these items in place by the end of October.

Hot lunches will continue throughout the year thanks to Kathy, Crystal, and all of the parents and community members who volunteer.

Mom’s Pantry will also run from October 15th to November 1st in the same format as last year. Orders will be ready to pick-up approximately two weeks after the deadline.

The Track and Field Canteen will be the last fundraiser of the year.

As always, if you have ideas for the playground or would like to volunteer for our committee please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you so much for your support!

REYNOLDS PLAYGROUND COMMITTEE

MUCC would like to invite any students in Grade 6 that are interested in ARCHERY, to join the MUCC Archery Team.

Family Literacy Day/Night 

Tuesday, January 27th 

From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

• Who is invited: Kindergarten to Grade 3 students and their families
• Theme: Warm Up With a Good Book
• Snacks: Hot Chocolate and Cookies
• What: Literacy stations will be set up around the gym (including games, crafts and reading)

On Nov. 27^th, 2024, the Ministry of Education announced the development of a new Saskatchewan Student Assessment (SSA) program. More detailed information about the program is attached to this communication.

In the spring of 2026, NESD students in Grade 5 Math, Grade 9 Math, and Gr. 7 ELA will participate in a census field test.  A census field test is a province-wide trial run of the assessment procedures and questions.  No assessment results from the census field test will be provided to students, families, or school divisions as the purpose is to test the test only.

Additional information and updates about the SSA program and the field test will be provided as it becomes available.
